Thoughts on Veganism

I get a lot of questions of why I am Vegan.  One of the biggest influencers in our decision is Dr. Fuhrman.    There are two books, Disease-Proof Your Child – Feed your Kids Right and Eat to Live. There is quite bit of research about Milk and the negative effects of milk.

There are quite a few studies that also point to kale as a better source of Calcium than milk.

A couple of Quotes from, Disease-Proof Your Child – Feed your Kids Right page 86.

Milk for humans is made by female humans.  Cow’s milk is perfectly designed for the rapid growth needs and brain requirements of cows.  Breast milk, with its immunoglobins and brain-supporting nutrients, is designed to be the perfect food for the developing human.  If we expect our children to grow up healthfully we must supply them with the normal requirements of human existence,  requirements that include human milk, real food (not fake food), and protection from toxic drugs.

Cheese consumption during childhood is a major concern because it takes ten pounds of milk to make one pound of cheese.  Besides the bovine growth hormone given to cows, their milk contains estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, prolactin and other natural cow hormones.  Cheese not only is richer in saturated fat, but is a more concentrated source of these hormones.  These milk hormones can exert effects on humans. The more you drink or eat dairy, the more hormones you get, and cheese consumption magnifies the negative aspects of cow’s milk. …….  successful advertising campaign waged on Americans has given milk and cheese an unearned health food status.  Science suggest otherwise, and slower growth and a later maturation are favorable to longer life.

Very powerful information here.
