550 billion eggs have been recalled because of Salmonella Enteritidis. Close to 2,000 people in 17 states have been sickened by this recent outbreak. Experts are saying that the outbreak is caused by rodents or tainted feed.
This recall of over half a billion eggs contains the most common strain of salmonella. Salmonella is a rod-shaped bacilli that is passed through feces, from humans to animals and then back again.

The symptoms of the disease are stomach cramps, diarrhea, and fever; they usually happen between 8 and 72 hours after eating contaminated foods. This can be extremely painful and intense. Salmonella can be life threatening for those with weak immune systems like kids, pregnant women, infants, unborn babies, and the elderly.

The culprit here is all from one farm, Wright County Egg, a factory farming operation in Iowa. Close to 70 percent of the antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs used in the U.S. are fed to farm animals not only to promote growth but to prevent rampant disease from striking animals that are kept in filthy, stressful environments. The fact is that many common bacteria including salmonella and a l Campylobacter, and E. coli have even developed a resistance to these drugs.

If you’re going to eat foods that can spread these sicknesses like meat, poultry, and egg products, I highly recommend that you educate yourself. You should know that America’s food is raised in factory environments. These environments promote disease and are cruel to animals. I recommend eating locally from small, sustainable farms; then you can depend on the harshest critic out there to inspect the food you eat: yourself.

I always thought the doctor was checking my lungs. Google it to learn more.

Well, first week of nursing school is complete. You are probably wondering,”Well?”. I have many adjectives, adverbs and exclamations to describe the first week. That would just take forever to think through those words, so, I am going to refrain.

Nursing school is an incredible experience. It is not going to be easy but God made me for this. I have the knowledge and the skills to be a nurse. God put this desire in me to be the best nurse. I have the ability to learn all the information.

My prayer is to be able to balance Family, Job, Life and School. It will call for extreme organization on my part.

God has called me to Nursing School and he can get me through Nursing School. Caring for others has been by passion for years and Nursing is an extension of that.

The peak of the passing of the Perseid meteoroids will occur on Thursday night, which will also be a moonless night. These factors together will make Thursday a prime night for watching the Perseid meteor showers.

The Perseids visit every year but it’s only every three years that a new moon and the shower peak coincide. The best viewing time for North American viewers will be Thursday night into Friday morning. The Perseid meteor shower “shooting stars” are the remnants of Comet Swift-Tuttle, which last visited the inner solar system in 1992. Every August, Earth passes through the “meteor debris” left behind along the orbit of the comet.

It is suggested the best way to view the shower is in a very dark, rural site. In this setting you could probably expect to see 60 or more meteors per hour.

Grab some blankets, lie down, and gaze into the northeast skies to enjoy the show.
